The dock will be removed on Saturday November 6, 2010 starting at 8:30 am. No on the water rowing will occur that day. November 5th is last day on the water for all club members. There will be tasks to do during dock removal, primarily washing launches. Please come to assist if you are able.

Several members will be competing at the Head of the Charles this coming weekend including Al Erickson and Matt Kocinski in the Masters single and club single respectively. A women’s club 8 and masters 4 from the MWS program are also entered. Marquette has 2 4s and the Juniors have a boys 8, a girls 8, and a boys 4.

Junior Head Coach Peter Helfer has informed me that former junior MRC rower and summer coach Liz Hartwig is stroking the Princeton Varsity this weekend. Maggie Stroebel, who is only a freshman this fall, has apparently made the Varsity lightweight 8 also at Princeton. Mike Lindberg is in his freshman fall at Wisconsin and will row at the Head of the Eagle for Wisconsin.

MSOE and Marquette will also compete in the Head of the Eagle as the final regatta of the season on October 30th.

The regular practice schedule will continue through November 5, 2010.

Indoor training at FC will begin Monday November 8, 2010 as per a schedule to be posted in the next two weeks. Rowing at FC is controlled and scheduled, though the operations committee is addressing open rowing during overlap with other programs use. Adult strength and conditioning will be offered on Saturday mornings as per an earlier announcement.

Dock in will likely be March 19th or March 26th, 2011.

Thanks,

Joe Cincotta
MRC President
