Local college athletes may row or cox in the summer based on payment of annual dues.

Rowing is a vigorous aerobic activity conducted on the water in narrow boats and involves some danger. Prospective members must be confident swimmers. No prospective member should be deterred from inquiring about rowing, but if uncertain should ask a physician's advice. Many have taken up rowing after injuries in other sports such as running, as injuries have made it necessary for them to find an alternative aerobic activity.
EXPERIENCED Rowers
Individuals joining our club with sweep experience may join our adult sweep program. For those joining our club with sculling experience, we will give you an orientation and an initial evaluation regarding your skill level before going out on the water.
RACING
Rowers are encouraged to race. Use of club equipment for racing requires preapproval. The Milwaukee Rowing Club typically attends the following races (we may attend additional master’s races due to the birth of our dedicated adult program):
Summer - 1000 meter sprints
July - Chicago Sprints (Chicago, IL)
Fall - Head Races
October - Head of the Rock (Rockford, IL)
October - Head of the Charles (Boston, MA) November - Head of the Hooch (Chattanooga, TN)
Note: Regatta entry fees, trailer fees, and travel costs are covered by each competitor. These costs vary from competition to competition. Athletes who do not pay regatta/trailering fees are not eligible to race in any MRC boat for any race until delinquent fees are paid in full.
